Do you work as an affiliate manager? Do you enjoy every aspect of your job? Are you hoping to make a few key changes to take your career to the next level?
It’s safe to assume that you have a basic understanding of what you should and shouldn’t be doing as an affiliate manager. Even so, there is nothing wrong with going above and beyond in an attempt to be the best in your field.
With this in mind, here are five things you should always be doing as an affiliate manager:
1. Answer Questions in a Timely Manner
If your affiliates have questions, don’t hesitate to provide immediate answers. The sooner you provide feedback, the sooner your affiliate can implement the advice.
2. Make Suggestions
You don’t have enough time in your day to make suggestions to every affiliate, but you should definitely attempt to do so every now and again. If you see something that could help someone out – such as another offer that makes more sense – don’t be afraid to make the suggestion.
3. Reviewing Offers for Accuracy
You should know every affiliate offer like the back of your hand. If you see something that doesn’t make sense, it’s time to get clarification from the company. The last thing you want to do is lead your affiliates to offers that are not 100 percent accurate.
4. Make Sure Affiliates Follow the Terms and Conditions
Every affiliate offer has its own terms and conditions. For this reason, it can be a challenge for some affiliates to follow these. This is even more so the case if they work with more than one affiliate program.
It’s not the easiest or most exciting part of your job, but you should do whatever it takes to ensure that your affiliates follow the terms and conditions. Compliance is a big part of affiliate marketing success.
5. Stay Current with Industry News
As you know, the affiliate marketing industry is always changing. What worked today may not work tomorrow. And what works tomorrow could be outdated by next month.
There are many ways to stay current with industry news, so you should always attempt to do so.
Implement a System
These are just a few of the many things you should be doing as an affiliate manager. The problem with this is simple: you could easily overlook one or more of these details, thus leading you to trouble down the road. This is why you should implement a system for staying on track. For example, check out your favorite affiliate marketing blogs every morning. Along with this, review new offers once a week for accuracy.
Tip: make it a habit to connect with affiliates on a regular basis. An example of this would be sending out a personalized email to each of your affiliates once a month.
No one can tell you exactly what you should be doing as an affiliate manager, but these points will definitely come in handy.
If you find yourself lost and looking for answers, it’s probably because you aren’t as organized as you should be. As noted above, once you have a system in place, you’ll feel good about the way you’re managing your job responsibilities.
